E-Day

In June, many things happened this yr. Other than the fact that J and K celebrated their 33rd yr in this world, my bro got engaged. All 24 yrs of age of him. V young! I think most of us at 24 were still yippee ya-ya struggling with new job, convocation (that was delayed) and trying to grasp holding lots of cash in our own hands.

Anyhoo to those many yrs in love already, perhaps 24 is not such a young age to get engaged and married. He's been with her for almost 6 yrs already...ahh true love lives :P Well life isn't without its dramas. Firstly, we couldn't believe it would be this fast. Secondly, mom took quite some time in the denial stage. She had her reasons, i believe. 1. He has just started work, the convo was only in Dec 2010. 2. He's the baby of the family; she tak puas manja with her. 3. My second brother is still single and without girlfriend currently. Any takers?

I knew about it quite late so i was asking mom, was she preparing anything. She kept going on..nantilah, lambat lagi! Thank God the girl's side was cool and we knew them beforehand already. Nevertheless we did the merisik thingy in May and come last month, they were engaged to each other. It went well with bit of drama here and there but the event was smooth and almost prestigious. If they got hitched that night, it'd be perfect! Seriously looking at the gifts the bore each other (and the decorations all around), it did not look like they were newbies in the job market. My dad, the Mr Scrooge, of course would go all out as long as it wasn't his money. Mom settled some of the costs (it's her darling son, after all) and the bulk was from the girl's side. I just hope brother dear won't be settling debts for his big day well past his honeymoon yrs! Hantaran money and date of wedding weren't discussed yet or maybe i don't know.

Good luck on the upcoming life! Sometimes i too, can't believe it..This is the brother all cutey pie yelling for me at the hostel then, the brother who jumped over tables and chairs in kindy, the brother who immediately stripped to his undies back from primary school to lunch in front of the tv, and the same brother i diligently visited in school and met the principal few yrs back. I see lots of him in my son now. But one thing for sure, i do miss my brother. Very much. But well, he's grown up now. And Jibby, pls don't grow up so fast.
